It was a fairly long ride to Arusha from Kilimanjaro Int’l. made longer by the local rush hour traffic.
The payoff was the secluded and serene Arusha Coffee Lodge, situated in the heart of the bustling city and in the middle of a working coffee plantation.
The villas were lovely, with separate lounge area and bedroom. There was also a private deck with a working fireplace should you be there long enough to use it. Neither the internet nor the TV worked, however. And there was no A/C.
The bathroom was also very large and modern. I wished I had more time there to enjoy it.
But alas I had arrived late, and our journey would begin early the next morning. I started the day off with an amazing breakfast, and met up with my guide Deo, and the other travelers in the group, five of us total.
We hopped into the Safari 4 WD vehicle and started off on the long journey to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater where we would check into Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge in preparation for our first game drive the next morning.
